Opinions needed (mens esp.) I m a [25/F] who was dating an older man [40/M]. Is he just not that into me or incapable of love. See below:
We met online and he was very into me and actively pursuing me. We live in different city's but said we could make it work. We met, he shared a lot with me. He was married for 20 yrs but never loved with his wife or been in love at all. Says he never connects with anyone. After we met, things continued to be great. Then randomly they went south. He would throw plans around like "lets go on this trip" but would never follow through. We would make plans and he would cancel last minute because things would come up with his kids. Suddenly travelling to see me was out of the question. Its odd because he would always tell me how into me he was, and that I'm the only girl he had met in a long time worth a second date. He would be very jealous if I talked about past relationships or if he knew I would be going out and other guys were going. NATURALLY,I'm inclined to believe he is into me. Then, everything just stopped. He told me he isn't dating anyone and a long distance won't work (although initially this was fine). He said he doesn't want to date at all because he is unable to connect with anyone and he is happy alone. I just don t understand. If it was me and I was not enough then why will he continue message me? Is it odd that he s never been in love his entire life? How could someone go from saying they want to marry you and they've never been so attracted to anyone in their life to"sorry it wont workout right now".Can someone please help clarify what is going on in his mind?
