  • ? Your teacher sounds rather bitter and vindictive. Why would Russia even want to "own" the U.S.? Do you even imagine countries buy and sell each other?

  • One of Exxon's sources of crude oil was, is and will continue to be Russia among many other countries. When Rex Tillerson was CEO of Exxon part of his job was to develop crude oil sources at the best prices he could get to keep the oil flowing into Exxon's refineries to make gasoline to sell to you so as to make a profit for Exxon. If someones job requires them to make acquisitions of whatever product from whatever source it would naturally be incumbent on that person to be in contact with a variety of private businessmen and government officials from other countries as well as their own in order to do the job that they are being paid to do. Rex Tillerson is no longer officially associated with Exxon and officially owes no allegiance to Exxon or any of Exxons suppliers. Naturally the contacts he developed as CEO are not going to be automatically disconnected just as your relationships with previous teachers , fellow students, and school staff that you have developed over time. If your teacher actually has a college education he/she should be aware of how business and relationships work. Unfortunately this teacher appears to be seriously ill-informed and their opinion very naive.
