A ferret is a furry little animal that can get into very small areas. Many people like them as pets. One draw back about them is the STINK and can be very noisy at night! If you mean using the word to "Ferret out something" it means to search out something in all the major and minor places. As for liking, it is just a word I do not use very often.

I know what a ferret is, I just wanted to see how many people liked the word. My sister and I have always liked the word "ferret" since we were kids. Lol:)
