What is the proportion of land to water on earth in terms of mass?

    Whoever posted the previous answer got his math wrong and did not answer the question that was posed.
    The question asked proportions of MASS, not surface area( 71%), that I assume the previous poster tried to answer.
    Ready for this....water in it's liquid state accounts for 1.35 quintillion (1.35 × 10^18) metric tons, or about 1/4400 of the total mass of the earth. This is 0.04 % of the earth's mass. Note I say liquid state.
