Help answer this question below.
I do not believe that magic has a color. "White" magic is supposedly good magic - that used to help or heal. "Black" magic is supposedly bad magic - that used to gain at the expense of others.
Magic is a force. A good analogy is electricity. Is there "good" electricity? Is there "bad" electricity? In short, is electricity either inherently good or intrinsically evil? No. There are good USES of electricity (medical equipment) and bad USES of electricity (electrocution). This brings us back to intent. It is the magician/witch's intention that is good or bad. The magic itself is neither.
On a side note, I do not associate black with evil or "bad." I associate it with night, with rest, with the Womb of the Mother, with the receptive side of polarity (black being the result of a material absorbing all visible light waves and reflecting none), and with endings.
The difference I see in white magick and black magick is mostly the intention. There are certain things I see as forbidden, such as casting a spell that works against someones free will. Extreme weather magick is another thing I don't agree with, but I think it really is about what you feel about it. There are, of course, obvious things that are forbidden to all Witches, like harming someone in anyway with your magick, but other than that, it's kind of like setting your own rules for yourself...
magic is like a pencil.
its completely neutral until its used. its the writer (spell caster) that is influenced one way or the other.
Just as a pencil can write works of great good and love
it can just as easily write pieces of great evil and hate.
magic works in the same way.
"white" and "black" are just terms used by "muggles" (for want of a better word) to explain which orientation the magical user is.
I don't see a difference between the two, all magick is both black and white. The universe is about balance. Magick is about subtle alteration of that balance for a particular human being or group thereof, be it you, your group, or someone else or their group.
wiccans believe what ever you dish out comes back to you three fold (the law of three). there is a balance of good and evil, sooner or later it will level back if you throw it out of wack. i personally don't believe that there is a black or white magick but the term black magick is using witchcraft to perform unjust harm on people for personal gain.
White magic refers to using the powers for good things. Black magic refers to using them for evil things.
magick is neither black, or white. but wiccans use magick in a good way, so it does not harm anyone, because if it did it would be braking what the wiccans believe in. but you could use magick in a bad way, so theoretically yes.
Though we can get into hours of debates type "magick has no color" ( which is ok statement )
white magick and
black magick are OFFICIAL occult terms , defining what for is magick used and by what means ( tools unlike in Ceremonial magick, where differ slightly , in lower , folk magick differ completely ) .
However in Wicca , the whole exitance of BLACK MAGICK is dubbed simply becuase a evil practitioner is considered self-destructive thus short living due to
THREEFOLD LAW !
CONCLUSION : You wouldn’t say , doctors are neutral , whether it's cardiologist or urologist , what he does and how does not define him , he is a doctor of medicine , his specialty is just his choice of using general medical knowledge .
Therefore WE CAN NOT exclude terms "black and white magick" , BUT WE CAN USE THEM RACIONALY , AWARE THAT MAGICK ITSELF INDEED HAS NO COLOR , AND THAT THEY REPRESNT IT's Physical ASPECT
White is for healing, black is for attacking.

If you whip out a gun and save a helpless person from an attacker you have just used very negative energy against a person for a good cause. The key should not solely be intent, but also due consideration for the best action: while you could kill the attacker to save the helpless person, if the option exists to merely knock out the attacker it would probably be evil to kill the attacker anyway, even though the good intent is the same with either action.
