Can anyone explain to me what 'white brethren' are when referred to in a spiritualist context?

Wow. This isn't something that is a hard-and-fast (single meaning) term that I've heard. In spiritualism, white is generally associated with purity, specifically spiritual purity...the loving, good, white, holy, heavenly, [insert synonym here] side of nature/divinity/humanity. Brethren is a term used, obviously, for our brothers. This isn't literal, but figurative, as it usually is. It means our compatriots, our neighbors, other spirits that exist. These can be thought to be either humaniod, former humans, or other. This most likely has been used to refer to positive, helpful spiritual entities.
