I have a fix-it ticket for modified emissions in California. What happens to the ticket if I sell the vehicle before I fix it?

In California, I doubt you can sell it as "fit" unless you fix it. If you sell it "As-is" then the buyer needs to "fix-it" before the vehicle is fit. If you sell the car as unfit, your obligation to "fix-it" is transferred.

If your vehicle was in violation at the time you owned or had control of it, then the ticket would stand as is. it was a violation when you had possession of it, selling the vehcile would have no bearing on the violation you received. go to court.
