  • I'm not sure specifically on this but when engine codes are stuck and keeping an indicator light on even though the problem is fixed, you might be successful in clearing the ECU. Disconnect the negative battery cable, get in the car and hold the brake pedal down for 30 seconds. This should drain the ECU so much that it resets. Reconnect the cable, start and let it idle for a few minutes, as it may be recalculating emission information and may run rough for a minute or two.
  • You shoudld NOT cut anything, on my 97' grand prix there is a yellow reset button, that is mounted a ways under the steering wheel, just press and hold the button down for 5-10seconds.
  • you will need to access the drivers information center of the vehicle, using the seek and tune buttons on the radio. Push and hold the Tune button and hold it down and the various options will show on your instrument cluster, you can reset tire pressure monitor, change courtesy lamp and lock features through that button. You may need to have the key in the acc position with the engine NOT running to do this so keep that in mind
