  • The P1441 means "Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) System Flow During Non-Purge". I worked on a Pontiac Grand Prix recently and the purge solenoid was the problem. The purge solenoid is located in different places depending on which engine you have, on the 3.1L look on top rear of engine behind ignition control module, on the 3.8L look on the top rear of the engine, near center of the valve cover, on the 3.8L look on the top front of the engine near center of valve cover.
  • DenLors is right. You might also check all hoses associated with the EVAP system. Look for a crack or split where the hose attaches to various fittings. A small vacuum leak will set a code. I just had that same fiasco with a Dodge Durango. Found a small split in a hose from the fuel tank to the EVAP canister. Also make sure the gas cap is on tight. That will set a code too.
