  • You may need to get a Rx for a steroid cream from your GP, or Dermatologist.
  • some people experience those symptoms if they have a small yeast infection around their mouth. also, if they're drooling in their sleep.
  • The only thing that ever worked for me was Blistex Lip Medex...in a small blue plastic jar. I used to lick my lips alot and my skin would dry out and get red on my upper lip up to my nose...Lip Medex healed it in about 4 days.
  • Have you tried Mary Kay's extra emmolient night cream?
  • Sounds a little like eczema. You might wantto consult a dermatologist
  • I would suspect an infection, and treat it with Neosporin. The flaky skin thing is what tips me off, and it reminds me of impetigo I caught as a kid from swimming in a polluted swimming hole. Large swatches of skin peeled off from all over my body. There was a little itching but not much pain involved. It looked worse than it made me feel. My family doctor knocked it out with tincture of iron, which hurt the most. Don't use ToI around your mouth. Neosporin is safe, I believe, as long as you are careful where you put it.
