  • I think the words i'm sorry can accomplish so much. A sincere apology can do wonders towards mending a rift. Without trying to be offensive, i think your mum was mistaken.
  • Well I disagree. Of course that can vary from person to person. If someone comes to me and sincerely apologizes unconditionally, it's enough for me. If it's a repeated theme with that person, then it begins to mean nothing to me. Also, if someone apologizes with the follow-up of "but", then I am less likely to be convinced of their sincerity. However, that's not to say that after giving it some thought and reviewing my contribution to the situation, if any, that I may decide they were justified in the actions.
  • Sometimes saying "I'm sorry." is the best thing that can be done or said. I think your mom meant for you to try and not do anything to be sorry about. If you say you are sorry and mean it, it shouldn't matter who thinks it isn't enough. It is like giving a gift...you give the best you can. If they don't appreciate what you have done, then to heck with them! It is their problem. Not yours.
  • Because people feel like "I'm Sorry" does not make up for any kind of pain you have caused someone else. I'm more than likely not to accept an apology. What works for me is time to heal and forgive. However, in MY opinion, most things I believe are unexcusable :D
