What team is credited with starting the trend of wearing the baseball pants all the way down to the shoes?

    "The first uniform pants were long. Eventually, players started tying their pants around their shoes or ankles so they wouldn't trip.

    By the late 1860s, baseball players started wearing shorter pants like cricket players.

    Supposedly the Red Stockings of Cincinnati were the first entire club to don knickers (by at least 1867). Hence, the nickname 'Stockings.'"


    "George Hendrick was the first player to wear very long pants back in the early 1980s--with about 1-2 inches of sock showing. The total disappearance of the sox showing, began en mass with the high-top shoes fad in the early 90s--Barry Bonds led this trend."
