That is still hard to tell right now. There will be twists and turns that could happen to the team. They will experience ups and downs as well. It's not the money nor the quality, but the desire to earn the World Series. I still think that they have a chance.

You never know, they always have the power to make trades and bring in top calibre players just before trade deadlines and can hang in a postseason race when most teams would fade away. But on the whole I think this current squad of players is past their prime, and while they are still good (especially the hitting), I think they need an injection of young talent and it might take them several years to bed together as a unit and really compete for the World Series... so I will stick my neck out and say "no" to your question, although they are still more likely candidates than many!

Yes. As long as Steinbrenner or his successors are willing to spend the money, they have a good chance. And I think Jeter is hungry for another ring before he retires and they retire his number.

2007 doesn't look good. i think in 08 they will have a new manager but if not then, then in 09

Yes they have won this century, in 2000 against the Mets.

My best friend and I are hoping that it will be this year.. she is a Yankee fan and I am a Cubs fan.. so are dream is for it to be a Cubs and Yankee series in 2008.

I think so. Now that Hank Steinbrenner is running the team, he sounds like he will spend even more money than his father did. And they will draw at least 4 million fans in 2008. Then they will move into a new stadium in 2009 and generate even more income.
