Why do people still drive drunk?? Do they not know what can happen? Read the linked news article about what happened just recently in Toronto. Thoughts?

This question kind of got put to the side last night when the troll took over the homepage. I was still curious about peoples answers to it. Sorry for taking up some of the answer spots with my own posts.

Look, we live in a world full of stupid people. The sooner you shed your delusion that we (as a species) act rationally or have any notion of cause-and-effect, the better off you will be. Nobody believes that bad things can happen to THEM. Misfortune only strikes others. Sure, drunk driving kills, but it kills OTHER PEOPLE. We can drive fine after 7 beers. We are different, special, above it all.
