  • You can never go wrong with Futaba ;)
  • If by controllers you mean transmitters, the 3 biggies are Futaba, JR and HiTech. All have their good and bad points and many models of transmitters are available. You need to scale the transmitter to the models you're wanting to fly. Example, to fly a model that has 4 servos, you need one to handle that many, as in a 4 channel radio and so forth. Scale the radio to the type of planes you're wanting to fly. If you're into electrics, and you mean speed controllers, there are a large number of different ones on the market. IMHO, Jeti makes the best speed controllers. If none of this makes any sense, you really need to visit your local hobby shop or local flying field and seek advice on how to get started.
  • Don't buy a controller till you find an instrctor who will teach you to fly with a "buddy box". You want a transmitter that will have a patch cord and able to match to the instructors box. If the instructor has a Futaba box and you have a JR... you will have a problem, I did. I bought the transmitter first and then learned my mistake.
