  • If you can do a back handspring and standing back tuck there are still a few more stages to cover before you are ready for a full. It is unbelievebly difficult to do a standing full and even if you are one of the very few people who could do it it is much less spectacular than a full in a part of a tumbling series. To be able to do a good full you need to connect it in a tumble. stages 1. Learn a round off with a really good strong rebound at the end, 2. Learn to d a round off back handspring with a strong rebound. 3. Learn to do a round off back handspring, back tuck Once you can connect these skills the next step is to learn a layout. Which is like a back tuck but with a straight body. You need a really srong rebound from your back handspring (can also be done straight out of a round off) to do it and keep your body totally straight in the air. Practise on a trampoline. Once you have a great layout it's twisting time. It is much easier to start learning to twist on a trampoline, tumble trak, or off a mini tramp or double mini or into a pit. This is a skill tha should be learned with a coach in a gym, not in a back yard. Start by working a half twist. Do the layout then do a jump half turn after you land to get the feel for it. I must stress that you can't learn a full on your own without a coach to spot you. At the very worst this is an extremly dangerous skill and if you do it incorrectly you could paralise yourself for life or even kill yourself. But if done in the safety of a gym with a coach watching and spotting it can be awesome. At best if you learn the skill on your own you will have poor technique and never be able to progress past a full to more exciting skills like multiple twisting.
