I've been teachers pet, a couple of times. I guess it was because I actually liked school and learning and that sometimes set me apart. I didn't like being different, I don't think little kids like that at all. But it was nice to be appreciated and liked by an adult and thought well of. And the other kids didn't' really think badly of me, just that I was weird! I've never been ridiculed by a teacher, that must hjave been awful! But I have been picked on by my counselor in high school for my lack of ambition and not wanting to go to the big university with all my talents. She hounded me about my majors (clothing and arts) and always called me into her office for a talking to. She was frustrated with my parents, too, because they let ME choose what I wanted to do and so she was helpless in making me do what SHE wanted. It was 3 years of hell with her. She never got what she wanted and I did great in high school and enjoyed myself immensely :-)

I've never been "teacher's pet", but I have been singled out by teachers, especially my fourth grade teacher. She would go out of her way to embarass me in front of the entire class.

I was considered the teachers pet because I liked learning. I raised my hand a lot and got good grades - it sucked being "that kid." People used to assume a lot of things about me that just really weren't true. That was only certain classes, though. I don't do well in science classes...too much logic, too many steps. I used to get picked on by my science teacher...gave myself a nosebleed once because I took her directions seriously and smelled a chemical....she told all of her other classes NOT to do what I did since I made my nose bleed.

Yes, I was a teacher's pet at one time. The other kids thought it was funny since I'm least likely to be such a thing.
