  • No particular company made the first railroad car. Railroads simply took carriages and mounted rail wheels on them.
  • Looks to me it was the Tom Thumb in 1830.The machine pulled a car, a boat shaped one in which the the directors of the Baltimore&Ohio travelled. This was the first passenger car in America. Good luck
  • The earliest evidence of a railway found thus far was the 6 to 8.5 km long Diolkos wagonway, which transported boats across the Isthmus of Corinth in Greece since around 600 BC. It was a long time before George Pullman would come on the scene (1860s). ;-)
