At no cost? I would add a great deal, enough for the house to be worth twice its current value. Then I would sell.
-
I'm currently building a bedroom/shower room extension but unfortunately I have to pay for the materials.
-
I'd expand the patio/terrace area. And I'd enlarge the master bathroom. I want more of what I already have.
-
A conservatory where we could put a hot tub!!
-
An upstairs bedroom and laundry room. Also update the wiring, plumbing, and insulation. And fix the roof.
-
I'd add on a second story.
-
A room off the back deck. I would like a garage but it just wouldn't fit in with the other fronts of the townhouses here.
-
An other bedroom and bathroom.
-
I live in a condo. I would add on a front yard.
-
I would knock the wall that had the picture window in it down, and put up a nice glassed in patio with a spa.
-
please delete

Were are still in the midst of constructing our home but something we would like to add later would be a sunroom entrance, almost a sunroom-mudroom. Here's a photo of where I'd like the sunroom. Off to the right there on the half with the door.
-
I would add a second story "loft" to my room so my bed could be up there and my computer and clothes on the bottom. It woudln't even have to be a very tall second story. Just tall enough that I could stand underneath it. And maybe also a bathroom.
-
An exercise room complete with weigh training equipment, shower, hot tub, sauna, and massage table.
-
An extra bedroom, a great room, and a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi. But I think the co-op board would frown on it.
-
no i need to tear down my dads house and build it all over again
-
I would add a second story--then at least I'd get a work out taking laundry up & down the stairs
-
Can I add a whole home? I'm tired of living in an apartment.
-
Well, I lost my home. So I guess the first thing I'd add is a home. Assuming that I actually had a home, I'd add on a deck or rec room.
-
I don't know if this is considered "adding" to my home but, I would finish the basement.
-
I'd add a room on top of my bedroom. It'd be cozy with a tv and sofas with an elevator leading up to it.
-
It would be a toss up between a garage or a solarium with a hot tub. I would have to flip a coin.
-
A soundproof study so I'd have somewhere to relax in peace and quiet when I need 'me' time.
-
I would add a great room to my house a bigscreen, jacuzzi, and kitchenette and this room has to be big.
-
I would like an extra room upstairs for one of my boys, and a bigger living room and kitchen downstairs and could I please have a bigger master bedroom?
-
an extra bathroom. . .or a three season room with an screened in deck
-
Another bathroom. In a heartbeat!
-
i would add a hugh master bath.
-
I would add on an extra room and a garage.
-
Parents retreat A nice padded cell, lol.
-
hey patti jo,your so sexy.thanks
-
huge climbing wall , really difficult one so I woulnt get bored with it and it would keep me fit.
-
I would add on a second floor and double my square footage!
-
A spa. Yay. =)
-
A pool with a jacuzzi.
-
A bank vault filled with untraceable used bank notes...
-
hmm.. I suppose I would add a couple of extra bedrooms, another loo, although it would be hard to add on to my flat.. I would have to put rooms out in the hall..lol
-
I'd add a house. ;) I live in an apartment.
-
An other bedroom only have one now.
-
We're talking about adding on... we have a single-wide modular home. Just big enough for the two of us, but if we have any kiddies, it'll get small fast! I'll push back the rear wall of my kitchen/living room areas, with a step down. What's the living room now will become the sitting room/library. The step down will become the new TV room. The extension of the kitchen will become a REAL dining room (yay!) On the south side of the house, I want to build my master bedroom and bathroom, with a BIG closet. *_*
-
add on new bedroom or bathroom. maybe a sunroom
-
A huge covred patio with a built in outdoor kitchen!!!
-
A second floor with the same floor plan as the first....another apartment, for family or income.
-
2 more bedrooms, another bathroom, enlarge the family room and kitchen and I would raise the ceilings in the house .
-
A phallus-shaped chimney.
-
a workout room. I hate working out ijn the garage in the summer!
-
a full basement on my mobile home.
-
I'd enclose the back porch and add a jacuzzi.
-
Indoor Pool, adds so much value to your house
-
2 more bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a pool!
-
A very large, barrel-vaulted ceilinged, library!
-
I would make my kitchen bigger and add appliances. All I have is a stove and a fridge. (And a microwave, but that doesn't really "count".) But it's an apartment building, so that isn't happening! Good question PJ!
-
Two bedrooms and a bath. Then I would ask my daughter to move back in with her two kids.
-
A large wood paneled library with built-in bookshelves, a fireplace, french windows, and a barrel vaulted ceiling. It would have to be large enough to house 12,000 books.
-
I would add the Palace of Versailles. And a carport.
-
I would add an extra bedroom because that is one addition that usually pays back by putting your house into a higher catagory of comparables in the real estate listings.
-
What a question. I would remove the back wall of my 2 car detached garage and make it a 4 car deep. I would extend one side out and add french doors with access to the back yard. I would put in a bathroom. I would also add an apartment above it, that way the guy renting one of my rooms could live out there and I could double his rent. That's what I would do.
-
a moat and drawbridge or a spiral staircase hidden behind a bookshelf that leads down in to some other room. my friend had a house with one of those and it was the creepiest/coolest things ever.
-
I would not actually "add on". I would redo the floor plan, expand the upstairs bath, finish the basement and have all the wiring redone
-
I already added a laundry service and a second bathroom so I'm set. Even if the excellent and very reliable person who did my additions offered to add something else to my house for nothing I'd probably decline at least for the time being because I'm happier with what I have than dealing with the intrusions and upheaval that usually accompany domestic expansions. Now that I've given it some more thought, I'd really like to get central air conditioning. However, to minimize my power consumption I'd use the CAC as a quaternary sytem, i.e. my choices would be: 1. Opening my windows and doors. 2. Turning on my fans. 3. Using my 13,000 BTU window unit. 4. I'd use the CAC as a last resort and as a primary standby for my 25-years-old window unit.
-
Add a Helipad :)
-
If someone else put up the money, I would add a second floor.
-
Solar panels, replace windows with ones that were more energy efficient, and add on to the upstairs back of the house to increase the size of the bathroom.
-
let's see now... hmmmm. okay: a rocket launcher a satalite dish a hockey field and gym an airport i'd like a few paddocks of sheep and that's about all for now! all under the one roof, no charge! ;) not that i'd ever use any of this though:)
-
Well, we still aren't done building this home but what I might like to add is a sun room attached to the front of it where we would walk in. It could be a mud room, greenhouse, a buffer for the front door into the house. A nice place to enjoy the sunshine and somewhere with lots of light to place all these outdoor plants in the wintertime. I'd place it there over the glass doors to the right up to the greenhouse window.
-
I would gut this whole place out, granite counters, stainless steel appliances, central air and heat, closets, separate shower and tub, double vanity, master bedroom suite, bay windows and a porch so my cats can go in and out whenever they want.
-
An enclosed 4-season room and a covered walkway to my garage.
-
One bedroom, one bathroom, and expand the basement to make it a full instead of partial!....you know...I may just add a whole new level!
-
Indoor pool and hot tub.
-
screened in porch
-
It depends on if you are speaking in general terms, or if you are asking about MY home. In general terms, adding additional bedrooms and bathrooms are usually the additions that have the best returns. On my own home, I would want a third garage space.
-
A 35 story addition with elevator!
-
Id add a third floor. You know...make it much bigger then all the other houses!
-
An enclosed porch with a hot tub.
-
Oceanfront
-
Another bathroom.
-
Not to be funny, but, nothing consumes like consumption, how about an accelerated mortgage, If it is at no cost to you. Think of what else you could do with that mortgage payment every month...
-
Another full bathroom.
-
Glass doors going out to a balcony from my bedroom. That would be awesome.
-
I would fix the HORRIBLE job the jerk hack un licensed contractor did on the back room of my house un known to us until after we bought it.
-
VALUE!
-
VALUE
-
A bathroom. Nursing two patients through chemo at the same time, one of them potty training at the same time, in a house with one commode was not the most fun thing I ever did. I don't care if I still have only one bathroom, I want two commodes.
-
Being an Real Estate agent, the BEST value you can get for your money (or in this case of someone elses money) is to add or upgrade your kitchen. Most famimlies spend their time in or around the kitchen area. If you can combine a great room & incorporate if to your kitchen, you are looking at a great investment! Adding a bathroom, or a bedroom is OK, but only if you desperatly need to (ie: children, in-laws, visitors etc...) if you have small children & a growig family still, then you might want to take that into consideration. If not, say your children are grown & out of the house, or maybe you dont have kids, then the best et would be something everyone that comes into your home can enjoy. An expansion of a kitchen, or incorporation of a kitchen & a great room.

My home is 4000 sq. ft. ... I cannot think of anything that I would want to "add-on" aside from another couple of garage stalls. I would prefer to move up to one of the similarly sized executive homes that I have listed presently though. ;-)
-
I just put a huge pitched roof on my adobe-style house and there is enough room under it to have a woodshop -- so I'm going to have one! I'm also reworking a fish pond by the front lane that the neighbors used to like to drop by to chat in the evening. It's only going to be 12'x12' with a space about 4'x8' in the middle where you can look down 3" and see the pond. I'm planning to use that green-plastic-covered wire to keep the raccoons out and that could be taken off (if it's in a frame) when there are people there. (I am also slightly worried that a child could fall in.) I'd like to have a big pile of sand dumped nearby and a 3x4 flat-bed swing hung from a tree for kids. And then redo the playhouse and cover the narrow stairway going to the roof of the garage, so the kids will feel like they've gone up a tunnel when they go up to spy on the neighbors. <G!> It would be fun to add a circular great room in back with three sets of French doors so you'd feel as if you were in a forest. High white tongue-and-groove ceiling, Saltillo-tile floor, and someone's idea of a spa sounded pretty good!
-
Realistically, i would probably add another bathroom.
-
I'll add a good landscaping with a swimming pool..Hope http://www.fiscal-wise.com.my/ can help me..^_^
-
A garage and recreation deck =)
-
i got about 5000$ worth of free new wood from a company that told me its your for the taking i build a house with all wood lol...
-
My house is rented and I don't want to benefit my landlord. I'd add a gardenawn instead of the tarmac back yard. It would drain better and give somewhere for the birds to hang out.
-
a bar.
-
weather proof paint
-
A 50 FOOT BY 50 FOOT ROOM, SO I CAN MAKE WHATEVER SIZES OF ROOMS OUT OF IT MYSELF WITHOUT TOO MUCH COST. HERE WHETHER A LARGE ROOM OR A SMALL ROOM IT RUNS ABOUT THE SAME PRICE. HAVE A NICE DAY. MIKE
-
I'd add on a family/rec room, extend out my deck and add a pool.
-
I'd add on a asecond story, destroy the kitchen and build a new more functional one....but i guess i'm lucky to have a place to call home.
-
definately a rec room! with a pool table and a coupla pinball machines, big screen tv and a bar, yeah, that would do it.
-
A garage/shop every man needs a hideout.
