Depends on where you live. In California you are legally separated as of the day she left, and you are only responsible for debts you personally have incurred since then. I'd go to a lawyer to get the paperwork rolling if you are certain you're not getting back together -- this will help protect your credit. You'll also want to contact your credit card companies (and other lenders) to notify them of the situation. If you have a joint bank account, you'd do well to get a new account in just your name to ensure that your activities post-separation are easily discernable.
