How do I get the cat urine smell out of a very old and delicate quilt top?

Try washing it on the gentle cycle with woolite and some fabric softener. then hang on line to airdry. If that doesn't get the smell out then you might have to have it drycleaned.

I have used oxyclean on mine with great success. I pre-treated the spot with a paste of baking soda, and then put in a washer with exyclean. My washer has a hand wash cycle on it. I then hang it outside to dry.

Arm&Hammer powder detergent, plus oxyclean (LOTS!). Do it over and over again until the cat smell is gone. You may need to febreze it between washes and sometimes just before the dryer.
