    No, not at all. There is no connection between mp3 with sim card. If u hv phone which can play mp3 and can work without inserting the sim. There r cell phones which can b used without sim like nokia 7710 and other latest phones. In this phone u can play ur mp3 without sim. Mp3 feature depend upon ur cell phone n sim provides the feature of networking which allows u outgoing incoming calls sms mms gprs n other stuff.
