  • I listen to NPR quite frequently. Currently, my favorite show on NPR is "Wait, wait, Don't Tell Me" http://www.npr.org/programs/waitwait/index.html Car Talk is generally solid (although they're a 1-trick pony that gets slightly old after 10+ years) And, goodness, do I miss the days when Ray Suarez hosted "Talk of The Nation". Neil Conin (sp?) isn't bad, but he's not as insightful as Suarez was.
  • I do. The classical music is a nice break from mainstream radio. Then I like to listen to a lot of the intelligent segments that they have. I am rather fond of the Prairie Home Companion, however I haven't been keeping current on that show. I believe that is the only one of it's kind still on the radio. http://prairiehome.publicradio.org/programs/ Here's my question: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/340368
  • Yes ! I like Star Date, Earth and Sky, The Diane Rehm Show, and some others. It's a nice change of pace from all of the normal every day jibberish on radio. Great Question ;-) +++++
  • You betcha!
  • Love it!
  • If that includes the classical music stations then yes.
  • I Listen to All Things Considered and Marketplace.
  • I used to years ago but I don't anymore.
  • Everyday! I have it on in my car.
  • Oh, heck yes! Car Talk Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me Talk of the Nation (esp. Science Friday) Marketplace (perhaps the *only* business-news program that isn't 100% corporate propaganda) On The Media I'm glad it exists as an alternative to corporate mainstream radio.
  • It's the only radio I enjoy. I like the variety of news stories, the different points of view, the world news is exceptional. I enjoy the weekend programming, particularly Garrison Keilor... I've been listening to A Prairie Home Companion since 1984 pretty much every weekend...
  • I'm lucky to live in a college town, and every Sunday night from 8-10PM we have Theater of the Mind, 2 hrs of old-time radio like X-Minus One and Suspense and westerns...
  • YEAH! A NPR question... So many segments...so little time. I guess I'd have to say one of my favorites is "This I Believe". Love the interviews with Terry Gross, Science Friday, I could go on and on and on...
  • I like "The Story with Dick Gordon" and I know it has been roundly dissed by those who preferred its predecessor, but I like "The Takeaway" with Adora Udogi and John Hockenberry. Also, the "BBC World News" is outstanding! Oh, and I love the literary segment they have on at about 9:30 every morning with the guy who reads poetry. He does such a great job!
  • Morning Edition. Good to get a little news in the morning, but commercial stations are mostly commercials.
