  • I would say the word grace is compassion for others and oneself.I endeavor to be compassionate with others, and not be hard on myself, each day.
  • Grace is unmerited favor bestowed upon us, freely give,.. It comes from the Greek root, 'char" which means "gift." I coined a word, "givingness" which describes the quality of grace in the giver as well. Other words that flow from the "char": root are gratitude, joy, thanks, and charity. The translators of the King James Version of the Bible used the word, "charity" to describe agape love in I Corinthians 13. To me, grace is the fresh cooling water that flows from the loving heart of God daily into my life, refreshing and cleansing me and giving me a giddy and joyful heart of gratitude and love toward others. Grace is my breathing room and my remedy to irrational fear and guilt. It is a source of mercy and forgiveness. It is the essence of what I can have a positive outlook on myself and others. Grace is one of the most precious and nurturing words in my personal vocabulary.
