Hm... sounds like you're not asking for yourself, but are choosing to be judgemental. Yes, 18 and 23 is not a vast difference. How many "mature" 23 year old guys do you know? Can we say "thank you sir, may I have another?"

The only part of this that bothers me is the word immature! Age is only a #, also beware of rebound!!!! Take things real slowwww, don't let your mind write a check that your heart can't cover.

Okay, there are only five years between 18 and 23, right? There are also only five years between 13 and 18. Get it? It definitely depends on the years, and we as people do a lot of developing in that time. Right out high school we have little practical experience with money, people, work, responsibility; we get that in college. Around 23 we have that experience to prepare us for another level of life (and relationships). Plus, rebound dating is just bad; been there.

Everyone one wants to play house, yet dont have the social or mental skills to cope. Get a hobbie or a skill, see the world...life is too short to be tied down on both sides.

all depends on how 'immature' she is. Do you mean that she likes going out having fun, or is it calling you names and throwing temper tantrums when you don't let her have friends round for tea????? Like everyone else has said, age is but a number. Don't get the messages from your head and your heart get mixed up. If you both want it to work, it will. But it has to come from both of you. I'm 27 and I class myself as immature, but because I like having a laugh. nothing else

why not?
