Help answer this question below.

If you found a very large amount of money, let's say thousands in sm bills, would you turn it in,? or would you need sometime to think it over? Who would you call first, your best friend or the police?

    I'd call my best friend first, no matter what. But as far as turning it in, I suppose the circumstances would determine my course of action. First, the only people I know of that carry thousands of dollars in small bills around are drug dealers. So if it looked like drug money, I'd keep it and do something good with it. But if it were in a bank bag or some other legitimate looking container, I'd probably turn it in.

    This is a difficult question to answer. I don't think I would call the police or my best friend at first. First of all, are the bills traceable? Probably less likely if they're small bills. Is the money evidence in a serious crime? Let's hope not, I wouldn't want that eating me up at night. It would be better to spend the money at various locations and well, keep the change. Then, I would make small cash deposits over time into my accounts, etc.

    I would contact the police straight away. Apart from the fact that it is wrong to keep the money without trying to find the owner, it is also illegal. That money could have been stolen from somewhere, or part of a police case.

    yeah, that money would be mine. i wouldnt even think twice about it, i'd call my best friend and we would go to the strip club!

    If I had a pretty good Idea whose it was then i would give it to them myself, but if i had no idea then i would take it, because anybody would say it was theres to claim it.

    Depends on how I found it. If it was in a moneybag, or looked like something someone dropped on the way to the bank, I'd call the cops. If it was in a parking lot of a club or something, looking like it fell out of someones pocket, I'd keep it.

    I would certainly WANT ro keep it! But my conscience wouldn't let me.
    If you DO turn it in and no one claims it, there is always the chance that you could get the money back.
    I know people who have found small amounts $50, $250, nothing huge.
    After a certain amount of time they were given the money.

    What kind of excuse could a drug dealer tell the police about the money they lost?
    "I've been saving this all my life!" Right!!
    And I would think that the police would do some testing on the bills and if it WERE drug money there would be traces of it on the bills.

    Or, it really could be some old persons money that they have been hoarding. (People who are sick or with dementia do this ALL the time.) When my Dad passed and we cleaned his apartment. WOW, the money we found. Thousands, upwards of 15. Luckily for us, because we were able to give him a decent funeral and pay off all his remaining bills and debt. We found it everywhere. In books, in containers in cupboards and the fridge and freezer. It was mind boggling to us. When we found the first couple of hundred, we thought, "Okay" But then it started turning up everywhere and we ended up searching everything. ALL of his books, in pockets. Who knows if we really even found it all.

    I would definatley keep it and id be super happy too!

    I wouldnt call anyone... or tell anyone either...
    i would just give it to my mum, she needs it more then me :D

    I would keep it.
    Thousands is not that much tbh.
    If it was in the hundreds of thousands/millions then it is a completely different story and I would, after taking a small amount for "expenses" hand it in.

    It could be a scam run by the cops.

    But I'd count the moola first. To insure that if it doesn't get claimed, 90 days, that it remains the same amount at the end of it.
