Cooking is even more uniquely characteristic of our species than language. Animals do at least bark, roar, chirp, do at least signal by sound; only we bake, broil, roast and fry.--Hungry planet p. 53. I thought this was sweet, apparently no one else did.

We make FIRE, and do not fear it (much). Although a few animals do make tools, WE make tools that we use to make other tools. We make war, commit murder, and numerous other crimes. We pray, and have religion ... and we bury our dead (or cremate).
