it wouldnt happen the goverment would lose too much money. i kind of know what you are saying, but even though we all know smoking is bad for our health. its upto the individual if they want to smoke or not.

Since cigarettes are a legal product and no other legal products are restricted (except prescription medications) then I see no reason why a person that wants to endanger their health should not do so. Alcohol and food are not restricted, and they harm your health. Cigarettes (at least where I live) are highly taxed, so it is not as though smokers do not pay for their health care prior to needing it. I am biased as I smoke, and I have no issue with smoking restrictions in regard to where you can smoke, but if people are going to restrict smoking in regard to health and rationing then there are a bunch of other things that are just as bad (if not worse) and cost the community the same (if not more).

I think that that is a decent idea. I am not sure if there would be a sharp decline in smoking, but it is a pretty decent idea and the smoking rate would decrease, at least a little bit.

Many will just switch to smoking marijuana. You know it is legal inthe City of Los Angeles if you get a doctors permission permit. Also, it is legal for many medical marijuana smokers to order marijuana like pizza. So why smoke regular cigarrrettes ?

Personally, I dont smoke either one. I'm afraid to take an aspiran

It wouldn't stop smoking, all it would do is create a larger black market for cigarettes, look at the way prohibition turned out in America.
