Normally it helps to have a workout partner so that you both keep the other actually going and doing it. A lot of people say that if you make working out a consistent routine it will become habit and doing it will become second nature.

What keeps me going is the simple intelligence and wisdom that comes from knowing what will happen to me if I stop ...

I don't "work out" or "eat right" so much as I participate in athletic activities I enjoy, and I try to eat stuff which is good for me and I like, so it's not so hard. It makes the whole thing not so much a chore which needs motivating, but fun, and normal.

What keeps me eating right is empathy. I have empathy for the animals that suffer and are murdered to make the food that's really bad for you that people eat. I learn to make healthy, vegan food in a variety of dishes that don't SEEM healthy at all (like lasagna! mmmm.) Exercising is easier to do when you have a friend. It's best to find someone that isn't in the same situation you're in. Find someone who already goes to a gym or works out at home. They'll help motivate you.

Go with somebody to the gym (or whatever) - it will mean you are accountable to somebody and have to go each week because you cannot let them down.
-
I keep a log/journal and record every workout - I love looking back weekly and enjoy my success (and seek to improve my slacking off) - overall I just move on either way - I like also to eat what is good for me (vegetarian diet - mostly organic pesticide-free foods):)

I generally enjoy life more when my body is in sync with my internal being. My internal being is fit and energetic. So my motivation to work out and eat right is so I can completely and thoroughly 'Carpe Diem'
