  • First of all, since Christian denominations differ on what makes one a "Christian" then not all of them can be correct or Christian. And even if a denomination is "Christian" that doesn't mean all of its members are. Christianity isn't about demographics, you're not a Christian just because you claim to be. Biblically, you become a Christian through faith in Jesus. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; It is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast Some denominations or groups would say one is saved through doing good works, baptism, living a good life, etc... However, that's not what the Bible says, so they are then not Christian for they don't teach the way to become a Christian. • Jesus church{his body, one body} started on The Day of Pentecost by Peter, who had the key to open that door, and THEN there was only one church{Jesus's} . The apostles WARNED ALL about the false prophets that would DIVIDE, confuse, etc. Jesus also said those false prophets would be thrown into eternal torment WITH Satan and his demons. The SCRIPTURES are the same, but man doesn't teach the same. POWER. ...
  • TO the Apostles, Christ promised, I will build "my church." It was not built on Peter, rather Peter's CONFESSION ="Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living GOD." 1 Peter 2:3-8,Acts,11:12;Ephesians2:18-22. Romans 16:16-17 The "church" is Jesus "body" not a denomination, building, or a certain sect... HE has "one body" and HE is the head.Romans12:4, 5. You have to think in a "spiritual sense" The church are the "saved". In a relationship to the WORLD sense, the word "church" means the "called OUT". John15:19, Thess.2:13,14. There is just one church(body)-which is the SAVED people(body)-built by and belonging to Christ.. YOU may JOIN or BECOME A MEMBER of Christ on the same CONFESSION as Peter- accepting him as your SAvior, the Son of God,,Repent, Be BAPTIZED, and JOIN Jesus. This is what HE and John the Baptist showed us. Once you do this , you have become a member or joined Christs "church", ONLY HE can ADD you and ONLY HE can take you out... so the TRUE church is "a body of SAVED people" who have become members of Christs Body(church). They are probably in EVERY building or Denomination in this world... Christ is the only universal head of HIS CHURCH....it ain't the pope.....
  • There are so many different Christian denominations or sects for the same reason that there were several Jewish sects in Jesus day; because men who do not believe God's written word add to it and reject parts of it. When these men gain followers the end reult is a group of people who too add to and reject parts of God's written word. Christian sects are no more of God than the Jewish sects the Pharisees and Sadducees were. These sects are of satan which is why Jesus said in Mathew 15:13 "Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. 14Leave them; they are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit." If you search the entire Bible you will find where men of God were fallible, sinned and were corected by God such as Moses, Jonah, David, etc. However you will never find one man of God teaching erroneous doctine to God's people Ever! The only ones who did this were false leaders not called by God. God calls fallible men but the gift of teaching his word that he gives them is always infallible. Can you imagine what would have happened if David had taught us to erroneously in the Psalms? Or Peter those 3,000 saved or the 5,000 saved, or Paul. We have to use our leaders fallibilty as an excuse for they all add to and reject from the scriptures. If they do it is not because they are fallible but rather because God has not called them no more than he called the false leaders of Jesus' day. The gentile Christian churches have failed to heed the warning given to us in Romans 11.....17If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, 18do not boast over those branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. 19You will say then, "Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in." 20Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid. 21For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either. We know that God did not spare them and neither will he spare us. The leaders of Christian churches need to repent or there is no hope for them. Troy Sanders troyflint1@hotmail.com
  • Its the way people interpret it. *gee. That was easy.* lol =d ~+~
  • All major religions are open to interpretation. Just look at the differences between the various Moslem sects. We would have to know the mind of God in order to know exactly what he wanted. Some claim to have "the mind of God," but I have yet to see proof of this. Mosst modern Protestant denominations began over seemingly minor differences in the interpretation of doctrine.
  • Many of them are Protestants which separated from the Catholic church. There are some Christians whose final authority is the Bible. That's not true of all though. Plus there are so many versions of the Bible too.
  • The bible can be interpreted in countless ways.
