  • I fry mine in butter and cinnamon, then sprinkle sugar on top of them. They always turn out good. I don't know any other way to make them. Although I'm sure there are others.
  • I don't fry mine, I grill them on the BBQ. You core them and stuff inside butter sugar and anything else you want. Wrap them in tin foil and grill for about five minutes YUM
  • Try a tarte tatin - make a caramel in a frying pan (butter & sugar), add slices of apple, then top with puff pastry. Make a hole in the middle of the pastry. Put the whole thing in the oven and let the pastry cook (about 20 mins). Take out, turn upside down onto a plate, so that the pastry is on the bottom. Add a scoop of cinnamon ice cream and... voila!
  • What we have always done is fry up some bacon and when it's getting near done, we top the bacon with thin apple slices, even overlapping them a bit. Sprinkle on a tiny bit of sugar. When the bacon is done, lift them out and either set them on top of the apples or place on plate for awhile. Then fry the apples one each side, moving the ones that were overlapped till they get a turn on the bottom. Sprinkle on a bit more sugar. Near the end, add the bacon back in and layer them all together so all the flavors, bacon, apples, sugar, all meld together. Makes a great breakfast for a cold morning. Not an everyday thing but a special treat occasionally.
