  • If you have not done it yet, you should see a vet and have him examined. The aliment you describe is common for a number of problems. Could be anything from a food alergy to a bug infestation.
  • My black lab had the same exact problem. She would bite at the base of her tail and toward her back to the point that it would bleed. These are called "hot spots". They have hot spot medication at Petsmart, etc. It worked like a dream. Try that before you spend alot of money at the Vet.
  • It sounds as if the anul gland is blocked and you need to pop your dog to the vet to get it drained it can cause pain when they poo.
  • You need to take the dog to the vet he could have mites, mange or it could be the anal gland is blocked
