  • An hour or so off schedule is nothing. My friend got pregnant when she said she'd missed her pill by 4 hours. She's not the BSing type, but I doubt this is very common. If you are more than a few hours late with your pill, just use condoms as a back-up.
  • Yes. Taking the pill at the same time every day has nothing to do with the effectiveness of the pill. It's simply so that taking your pill becomes part of your daily routine and you're less likely to miss a dose entirely (which does make them less effective).
  • If you miss a dose or are off by a substantial amount of time, you're supposed to take as soon as you remember and double the dose the next day or two. I'd suggest switching to the NuvaRing if you're comfortable with it. You can remove for 3 hours at a time and it doesn't have the nasty side effects as commonly as the Depo shot.
