i think it's true! i've heard it plenty of times on medical chanels only they said 5%

Human beings use all 100% of their brains. Sorry folks it's true. The whole 10% thing was stated years ago because we didn't have a good mapping of the brain and didn't know how it worked. But we use our whole noodles. Well, most of us anyway.
-
Hey when it come to Dr.Laura she is only useing 1%of her brain, cause that is all the brain she has.
-
Humans rarely use 10%,and many times much less. The potential of the brain is barely use and it is partly to do with limited brought on by society.
-
I guess it just depends what part of the brain you actually mean. I think we use about 4%. Everyone has more potential than they could ever use in one lifetime (*cough Leonardo Da Vinci!), but they have to know how to unlock it. If everyone really applied themselves and got all the opportunities to learn and develop people would be a lot smarter and more capable of achieving so much more. If you set your mind to it, you can do anything!
-
yes and no either
-
Some of the people I know use less than that. But I recently watched a documentary on Discovery rebuffing that myth. I believe personally, that we use far more.
-
Sometimes we use more than 10% ..sometimes not!
-
If some of the posts around here are any indication, less than that;)
-
that's an old wives tale that we only use 10%. Our brains are a complex assembly of neurons. Our whole brain is always working, each part having a special function and all working together. There's not 90% of it just sitting there waiting for you to have a revelation and use it.
-
That's actually a myth. Back in the day researchers found that humans could survive after stroke or other head trauma with severe brain loss. They inferred from this that we only use a small part of our brain. In reality, only a small part of our brain is used for critical life functions. The other parts aren't critical, but we still use them.

i use 100% of my brain power but i still can't function properly :p
-
I've heard that when we use more than 10% we get whats known as a seizure...
-
No. This is a myth. Our brain functions like a computer. 90% of our brain is used to power the 10% we use in our daily lives. For more information, check it out on wikipedia.

We use it all. They've proven it with MRI scans and PET scans, even with EEGs. It's a dang wive's tale. It was romantic while it lasted though... They even made a movie where that was a central theme. "Defending Your Life" It was kinda lame.
