  • It could be an air leak. The connecting manifolds betw carbs and air filter can be difficult to fit. While idling, spray some ether around it, it it picks up then you are sure that's what it is. Meaning when the ether is sucked into the leak it'll cause engine to rev up or change behaviour. To make manifolds easy to work on you can oil them and heat them up with an hairdrier, then use a long screwdriver to which you have ground off the tip and bent it to make a hook.. hope it made sense. Also check manifolds for cracks, especially if you worked on them while cold.
