I just cleaned the carbs on my '92 Suzuki Katana and now the idle speed bounces from about 800 to 3000. The throttle isn't stuck and the choke isn't on. It just slowly bounces between 800 and 3000 until it runs out of gas or I shut it off. Whats Wrong?

It could be an air leak. The connecting manifolds betw carbs and air filter can be difficult to fit. While idling, spray some ether around it, it it picks up then you are sure that's what it is. Meaning when the ether is sucked into the leak it'll cause engine to rev up or change behaviour. To make manifolds easy to work on you can oil them and heat them up with an hairdrier, then use a long screwdriver to which you have ground off the tip and bent it to make a hook.. hope it made sense. Also check manifolds for cracks, especially if you worked on them while cold.
