In America, a bridal shower and a Bachelor/Bachelorette party are two different things. Is is the same elsewhere in the world, or is it the same type of party in other parts of the world?

It is still two different parties in many other countries, especially the Latin American countries. Many see a bachelor party as something to do with education.

There is no concept here (India) of a bachelorette/bachelor party, really. They do have a lady's sangeet, which is similar to a bridal shower.

A Bachelor party is called a Stag Do and a Bachelorette party is called a Hen Do in the UK. We don't really have 'Bridal Showers' - presents are given to the bridge & groom at the wedding.

I'm in the us and we are having a co Bachelor/Bachelorette party, complete with strippers!! :-D
