  • I don't know, but if a colorblind person can see and recognize them, doesn't that prove they aren't colors?
  • White is a mixture off all colors. Black is the total absence of color.
  • when our eyes see black, it means every color in the light specturm is being absorbed by the black object, and no colors are being reflected back into our eyes, that's why it is the absence of color. when we see white, none of the colors in the light specturm are being absorbed by the object, and instead they are all being reflected back into our eyes. So yea basically every color is white, and the absence of color is black. But this is only when working with light. With paint, it's almost an opposite story.
  • Black is the absence of color, and white is the presence of all colors, as evidenced by the fact that should you gaze into a street light at night, you should see a rainbow of light around it. The eye sees all light, and even the absence of light, for the eye can differentiate between light and darkness.
  • They are both colors...at least as we define "color" Yes, the black in space is indicative of a lack of color - but black paint isn't paint which has no hue - it is paint which has been purposely darkened with dark substances, and may even contain some very dark blues and purples, depending on the formula.
