Rofl, I live next to Russia, and in Russia, a lot of money means a lot of power, and Putin is not a ruler there. He's just a puppet. He's mastered by the super rich russian criminals, who have a too much money, even too much that burning a couple of millions in the oven doesn't mean nothing. You can see in current presidents and former presidents eyes, that they are no "Gods" there, they are just puppets, who do what they are ordered to do. The real "Gods" are hiding. But there's no problem finding them, because they are the richest people in Russia and one of them is one of the richest in the world. I think that they have also something to do with North-Korea.. I think of "back-stab" strategy..

Without question. I don't know what Bush saw when he gazed into Putin's eyes but it certainly wasn't benevolence or altruism.

What do you mean next? I thought he was dictator, just by another name. Maybe I was having a brain hiccup. Why does he need the Arctic? He has Siberia, isn't that enough vast, cold, oil filled land for him?

Wouldn't worry about what Putin says, after his lies about agreements over the "war" against Georgia why would anyone believe anything he or his government ever says again. They will say anything to get their own way and then do whatever they like as soon as other people have acted on their lies.
