What did the "New Coke" of the late 80s taste like and how could I reproduce that taste?

    New Coke was a sweeter formula, more like that of PepsiCola, which seemed to be preferred in a number of taste tests. Here's a pretty good handling of that whole fiasco at Wikipedia:
