  • it depends on the state your in. for instance in Massachusetts, when someone has a learners permit, they are under there parents insurance. even though the kid may not be listed under it, if the kid were to crash your car, the parents insurance would pay for it, and it would go up just as if the parent got into the car accident. talk to your local insurance agency anyway, they are very helpful, they do it for a profession.
  • I think it depends on the state and insurance carrier. My parents are with State Farm (Mississippi) insurance and they told my mom that she can't put me on the insurance until I get my driver's license and then she has to put me on every vehicle she owns. And since you're only 15 you can't get your own insurance policy you have to be on your parent/guardians insurance.
