  • Cigarettes are almost $4 a pack. Smoking has decreased by something like 50% here. I think it's a good thing.
  • I pay about 6-7 a pack in NJ/NY
  • When I smoked, I never paid for cigarettes, I just stole them from people. Back then, I wouldn't have paid anything for them, and now that I don't smoke anymore I'll pay even less than that.
  • Tennessee is going 42 cents july lst. its funny, Kentucky use to have the cheapest cigarettes in the nation. Tennessee finally voted in a lottery and Kentucky lost Tennesseans money. Kentucky raised cigarette taxes to offset the lost lottery revenue. Kentucky was the highest. Now Tennessee will be the highest of the two states, but Kentucky will again be cheaper, because of the 6% state sales tax. Currently the average price of a carton of Marlboro, in Tennessee is $25 to 26 dollars. 42 cents a pack tax increase will raise the carton price to around $35 dollars. this is still cheap, compared to Seattle at $52 dollars and Alaska $86 a carton. I said when cigarettes went from 35 cents a pack to 50 cents, that i would quit smoking. but, some 40 years later, i am paying $4.20 a pack. am i stupid or what? Guess i'll again be buying my cigarettes in Kentucky.
  • theyre 5 bucks were i live. Talk about motivation to cut down.
  • Cigarettes in Delaware, one of the nation's cheapest, are going up. Taxes go up 60 cents a pack on July 31. That will raise the pack price to about $3.60, still a bargain compared to many states. And yes, there are alot of people coming to 'visit' Delaware so they can buy cheap smokes. There's over a dozen cigarette outlets (only sell smokes for the most part) within 3 miles of the bridge to New Jersey, where they're $5 to $6 per pack. And there is no sales tax in Delaware, so shoppers come there to buy computers, appliances, etc, anyway.
  • It seems like the prices of cigarettes are going up everywhere. I am currently paying $6 for a pack of Camels for the wife. I have not used a traditional cigarette in over 2 months. Ever since I picked up my electronic cigarette I have not really even cared to have one. However the wife will only smoke her electronic cigarette later in the day. For some reason she has to have the first 4 or so tobacco cigarettes when she drinks her coffee in the morning. It will be great when she goes completely electronic cigarette though. It only costs like $1.25 for a pack of cigarettes that way vs the $6. This is the electronic cigarette that we both use. It is a great deal and you get almost 2 cartons of cigarettes worth of electronic cigarettes for only $25. To start out you have to get the starter kit ($60) but it comes with 25 refill cartridges as well. http://www.perfectelectroniccigarette.com/blu-electronic-cigarettes
