Yes, my wart disappeared using Teetree oil and has never resurfaced. It also works very well on cold sores: the moment you feel one coming up (the tingling skin part), dab with Teetree oil and it will dry up.

I am at present using tea tree oil for a fungus on my thumb nail, and it is slowly disappearing. Make sure though to apply pure (undiluted) tee tree oil.
I am also trying to treat a small wart with it, will keep you posted of the result.

My mother's nail lady suggested to use Tea Tree Oil. It turns out what i had was not infact toenail fungus but a reaction to a nail polish i used, so whether or not the solution works, it's worth a try over the horrid perscriptions out there.

For generations, people have treated toe nail fungus by applying Vicks
    Vap-O-Rub on them.
I have done this myself. I put the rub on my toenails every morning and evening and got satisfactory results within seven days.

I work on a dive boat and had developed that horrible whitish discoloration in my big toenails taking over most of the nail, it started about 4 years ago, obviously from not drying feet properly between dives and wearing bootees for my fins. This was a HUGE source of embarassment for me, might not sound like much but all the other female divers have beautifully pedicured nails when they come to dive for the day and I had these nasty looking feet, so I compounded the problem by hiding them in my bootees....

Anyway, I tried Sporanox, Lamasil, vinegar, chlorine, cutting down the nail to painful extremes, nothing made any difference at all. Two days ago I read how Vicks Vaporub cleared up someone`s fungus in hours, I was hugely sceptical but had nothing to lose other than the $2.00 for the vaporub, literallly within hours the nasty crusty whiteness had gone!!! I`m still waiting to see how the nails grow back (I had cut them down drastically) but they are all healthy and pink and clear at the moment. Evidently it depends on the type of fungus or infection you have but it`s certainly worth trying! Off to contemplate my clear pink nails!

Thanks for the compliment - is that what it was?

No, I'm just an ordinary ( ?? !! ) guy. To put me into the ranks of a pharmacist - geesh!

Happy to report that my fungus is slowly abating, the clearer nails are growing out, I am keeping the nails trimmed like I should be.

Not that I know of; although, it's most likely due to keeping your toenails unclean.

Washing your toenails will probably help to prevent it from coming back AFTER you've gone to see a dcotor & taken the appropriate medications.

    I hope this helps!

Toenail fungus comes from inside the toenail, not the outside. vicks vapor rub would be useless. go see your doctor and get a prescription for lamisil. it takes about 3 months to see changes in your toenail. but, it does work. there are no known home remedies.

I consulted a doctor as was told the only way was to have the toenail removed, to which I really didn't want to do. I tried all the other otc medicines with NO results. I then was told by a close friend to use "bleach" I was sceptical but compared to the alternative I was willing to try it. I purchased a small dropper for a buck and applied 2 times a day and it worked. in 10days I saw improvement and in 3 weeks I saw drastic improvement. the nail was growing out healthy and the infected part was clipped regularly. The bleach is still bleach so after you apply it to the nail please wipe the skin on the rest of the toe and mosturize it or it will get dry. It's best to apply under the nailbed if possible works faster.

I have used the tree tea oil and it worked, just make sure to get it under the nail or as close as you can.

Try cornmeal, preferably horticultural cornmeal (not the processed type). We are talking about the ground-up corn kernals. Soak the cornmeal in water for a few hours and it tends to fight off certain fungi. People have cured toenail fungus by soaking feet in cornmeal/water solutions. It is very good for plants, preventing harmful fungi from growing on their roots which could inhibit their intake of nutrients. You may want to give this a shot.

    Cozumel Deborah-

Are you still applying the vaporub to your nails or have you stopped that and are now just watching the new nails grow in?

    Thanks

Here it is, as we speak my Mother has suffered with her toenails, she could not wear shoes it was so painful, I heard about listerine and vicks, so why not use them both? I had her start this program 3 weeks ago.
    1. File the top of the nail lighty so the listerine can penetrate the nail. (That is why it is so hard to cure, nothing can penetrate the nailbed when it is that thick.)

2.Soak the feet 10 minutes a day with listerine. (cotton balls work great)

3.Rub vicks on to the nails and wear socks overnight. I think about 3 months is the cure. Vicks, like tee tree oil have natural properties to stop the growth of fungus.

My Mother thought I was nuts, but she decided to give it a shot. Her nails went from dark yellow to light yellow and now they are looking like normal pink nails, (there are still a couple of dark spots but a tiny amount) she can clip them, wear shoes, leave the house and the pain is gone! The bonus is her fngernails are beautiful and strong from using her fingers to get the listerine and vicks on! I will be using this myself! Real nails that are healthy! Better than taking the prescription medicine which you have to take for 3 months, and then the side effects are just scary and no guarantee it works.

Vicks works to help cure nail fungus

Dear Dr. Gott: I tried the Vicks VapoRub therapy for toenail fungus and am eager to endorse it. I have had a problem for 15 years. Since using the Vicks twice a day, the improvement has been incredible. My toes have regained the softness and pliability of a teenager's skin. (Unfortunately, I am not the recipient of other returns to adolescence.)

When two friends heard from my wife about my progress, they asked me for copies of your column, which I gladly provided. They also improved.

I've had four primary care physicians in the last 15 years, because of moving, preference and my HMO. None of them has ever heard of the Vicks treatment. You are a genius. Thank you. Thank you.

    One happy customer anyway!
