I like this guy who's Mormon and I'm pretty sure he likes me too. Could he still ask me out since Mormons aren't supposed to date non-Mormons?

When i asked my girlfriend for the first time i was very nervous to do so and almost didn't. there is no rule that says an LDS member can not date a non-member. It is custom that a gentleman askes a lady out, however we live in a modern world and such customs "die-out" ask him out, i bet you he won't say no

I am in the same situation. And he is still 15 so hes not allowed to date either. I want to go out with him so bad. I pray to god every noght that he will abandon his parents rules and ask me out anyways. i have liked him for 2 years. . . and a couple of months ago i realized that i loved him.

- If you really "love" him, you should respect his values. God probably won't help you in your prayers to lead another away from Him. Prolonging the onset of dating is something that Mormons do for their spiritual development. Your friend will appreciate your patience and respect if you can wait until he's ready.

- God wont make him abandon his parents rules, because God has commanded that you should "honor thy mother and father" rather than going out try to hang-out more. there's a difference between the two. plus I'd be more concerned with if he decides to go on a mission when he's 19 for 2 years. most men do this and don't date until they get back, but usually get married really fast.

He has free agency - he can ask anyone out that he wants to. As can you or anyone else.

However, he'll also reap the consequences of getting involved with someone from another faith - which tends to end up being overly complex and ill advised.
