  • I'd say some people would consider it rude, because there are always unreasonable people in the world and people who just see things differently. But I sure as heck don't think it's rude.
  • Yes I think it is very rude to unlock the door and help yourself inside. There is a reason the door was shut and locked.

  • I think that's VERY rude. If I *had* an office door to lock, and someone happened to barge in of their own accord, I would take a great affront to that. If your door is closed, chances are great that you are busy in one way or another.
  • I think it's rude. But in some offices to have your door completely closed during normal hours is considered rude or a faux pas. Usually closing it, but keeping a little crack open, is better. It lets people know you're still here, your bosses don't think you're doing anything you shouldn't be doing, but it also gives off a bit of a closed off vibe. Hope that helps!
  • Definitely. Even if the door was unlocked, it's still rude because you could be in a metting or on the phone with an important client! If she wants to say hi, she should catch you before you go into your office, or talk to you when you have your lunch break!
  • A supervisor is a supervisor. They were probably checking to be sure you weren't sleeping or playing solitare. And that is their job - to be sure that you do your job. Yes, it is nice to be able to work without interruptions, but in the real world interruptions occur, and you have to expect that bosses and supervisors have the right to interrupt.
