Yeah! This one time, this guy grabbed his thumb, & he pulled it off his hand! I finally realized, only too late, that it was all just a trick. In reality, the man was just holding the severed finger of a dead man. And to think that I almost fell for it.

Not really, I have studied magic and can do quite a few and as you said they are magic "tricks" though this new one of a person being cut in half is confusing me a little but I guess the audience must be in on the trick. Chris Angel is like David Blane needing camera tricks to pull it off not slight of hand or misdirection which takes skill.

Yes, years ago I saw Copperfield at Foxwoods. He threw an assistant through a gigantic fan blade and the assistant got chopped to pieces (not for real) It was a neat illusion but gave me the creeps.

Maybe it did as a child because I just do not like magic Shows of any kind.
