What is the water visibility like in Key West, Fla? I am going on a big snorkeling there in August and wanted to know how consistently clear the water is.

Its so clear that if you go up to neck deep, you can still see your feet clearly.

Generally speaking the visibility is wonderful on the reefs off of Key West. Storms can kick up some sand but it's some of the best American diving around. Most trips will take you a few miles off the island, where it's clear. Unfortunately, some of the reefs, especially those closer to shore, have been all but destroyed by divers and other pollutants. But there's still some really fantastic diving. Do a night dive if you're certified and get the chance. it's a whole different experience. There are also a few great wreck dives.
