I'm fairly certain the answer is "zero". Women may be attended to by eunuchs, but I don't think they are allowed multiple husbands....

True.. but according to the system you argue for, you wouldn't know whether she was a half or full sister of yours, assuming that your Mom was a slave, with multiple male concubines..

I'll take a step back to answer your question. The answer is Zero. Going a step forward again explains why the answer is so and refutes your statement as to how you see no wisdom in it. It is so, in order for children of slaves, and society as a whole, to have no doubt as to who their real fathers are, if born from a slave, be that slave male or female accordingly.

But I disagree with you my friend that you can't judge people by what they do. Killers are executed, theives are imprisoned. Hence, whereas religion and opinions might differ as to what type of crimes are punishable and to whaich extent, the bottom line is judgement is passed on people, both legally and emotionally, based on their actions, as each person is responsible for his/ her own actions.

I'll take one step back, and answer your question. None, is the answer you are looking for. Now taking the matter one step further, my response above explains why the answer is none.

What we do governs who we are. Therefore, people are judged by thir actions ie Killers are excuted etc, thieves are imprisoned.. Our view and religions might differ as to the extent and means of punishment, true, but at the end of the day, whether we like it or not, people are judged by what they do. People are responsible for their actions my friend.

It does answer you question.. Take a moment to think about it..

If females were permitted to have multiple male slaves, as males are permitted multiple female slaves, then stop to imagine the anarchy it would cause with respect to knowing whose son is whose father..

    Need I explain this further..?

I'm actually glad you didn't take what I wrote above as an insult to you in any way..

Forget religion.. and tell me, would your rather have a father or a mother who flirts..? I'm sure you'd rather neither, but incase of a flirting mother, it's worse, plus you'll have brothers and sisters, who are only half-true, let alone the religious and social tags of being the children of sin etc.. Flirting Dads cause no such chaos.. Now continue on the right track of not misunderstanding what I just said, into something like: It's bad for either parents to.. etc..

The enlightenment here is to enable you to know whose son you really are.. Unfortunately, such ethical principles are not held in high regard.. nor often regarded as being an "enlightenment"..

Therefore, your non-comprehension & non-appreciation, if any, of the importance of the same, really comes as no surprise.. It basically boils down to enabling us, as Muslims, to answer the following simple question, without sweating it, without referring to the Internet, without asking your Mom and cross checking her response with your family, neighbours and distant friends.. Can you.. Actually, can either of your parents..?

Q: State your name, to the 5th grandfather..

I didn't think so either.. I hope that should enlighten you. :)
