  • First, go download this FREE book: www.rulymob.com Then go to the library and get: "Why Men Are The Way They Are" "The Myth of Male Power" Both by Warren Farrell.
  • FYI...another book to read is "Who Stole Feminism?" by Christina Hoff Sommers.
  • "The World Split Open: How the Modern Women's Movement Changed America" by Ruth Rosen is best book about history of feminism in America that covers the past century. The book is easy to read and tells some good stories about women who were active in the time. I've even recommended this book to some men and they loved it.
  • You'll probably want to look at some of the classic feminist books. Good place to start is Mary Wollstonecraft's "A Vindication of the Rights of Women." which is probably the earliest well-known work on the subject of women's rights, and Germaine Greer's "The Female Eunuch"- both were written prior (Germaine' Greer's almost immediately prior) to the start of the surge of feminist thinking in the 1970's, so will give you some idea of the basic concepts. Later books go off on a variety of tangents from extremists like Angela Dworkin, and rather strange philosophies about literature (Kate Millet's "Sexual Politics") to more modern girls such as Katha Pollitt and Elizabeth Wurtzel who embrace the idea of femininity. But those two early texts are definetly the place to start.
  • "The Feminine Mystique" by Betty Friedan
  • The SCUM Manifesto (Society for Cutting Up Men) - Valeris Solanas. It is Feminism 101.
