The information on the mosquito traps I mentioned is available at http://www.bantix.com.au they also have a website at http://www.mosquito-slayer.com which shows their basic non CO2 trap is available from around AU$220 including the lures required. I agree that the top of the range trap is around the AU$600 mark, but other traps I have seen - can be many hundreds of dollars more. I have also read entemologists reports that the mosquito-slayer outguns other traps too!
Nearly all of the other traps on the market today are similar to toys and none of them seem to target the females like the mosquito-slayer does. Since my first post, I installed one at my home and now when I go outside, I very rarely even see a mosquito. My family and I think its great and I am glad I made the purchase.

Hi, I am also from Qld Australia. I believe that electric insect traps with their blue coloured light and zps the insect to smitherines is not effective to a mossie, as they are after the scent and are not attracted to the light. Most shops that used to have these bug zappers are now not allowed to use them, as it sends body parts of the pests in all directions, thus could land in the food that the shop is selling. There are a few mossie killers on the market that use different scents to attract many different insects which drowns them. The makers claim they really work but at about $600 each, I certainly wouldn't go out in a hurry to get one.

I live in Qld Australia and have used various traps over the years for mosquitos. Of the electric ones, I have found that the ones which are electric plus have the ability to "mimic" humans with additional attractants like carbon dioxide octenol lactic acid (which the human body produces naturally from exercise etc) are the best. The ones with Carbon Dioxide work much better than those which are electric only. The more attractants the trap uses the better it seems to be.

there is information available from many websites but some which I can recommend on the matter can be found at bantix.com.au and mosquito-slayer.com
    Good luck

I bought one of the Mosquito Slayer Series 4 from the Bantix Worldwide Company and it was the biggest waste of money ever. As some one stated above it cost me $500.00 US and the piece of plastic with fancy lights wasn't worth $50.00. I was all excited that it would rid me of these pests but all it did was attract everything but what it was supposed to. It is designed to blow the bugs into a water tray, how ever after a few moths and other bugs cover the surface of the water that is all you get as the other bugs bounce off the top layer. It is a real scam and so far they have not honored there guarantee. I sent it back after about six months of trying it and never got my money back. I recommend staying away from the Mosquito Slayer Company.
