Help answer this question below.

Several years ago, I filed a restraining order against my ex. How to can I get the counter restraining order filed against me lifted? Does a restraining order prevent anyone from obtaining employment and/or moving into a new residence if not lifted?

    A restraining order usually lapses after a year or so, check with the court. Depending on the circumstances, it can affect things. For example, if the order came with a domestic violence charge it can affect certain jobs like being a paramedic or a police officer.
